OUR 2021 COMMUNITY COLLABORATORS

  • Borderlands Earth Care Youth

The Borderlands Earth Care Youth (BECY) inspires and trains the next generation of land stewards by hiring culturally diverse youth living on the US/Mexico borderlands to restore the trans-national watersheds they call home. Interns also work alongside conservation professionals to make grassroots systemic change in historically overlooked and underserved communities. Since beginning in 2012, 150 youth have graduated from BECY.

  • Salvavision

Salvavision is a Tucson, Arizona-based organization providing aid and support to asylum seekers and migrants in southern Arizona. We also have partnerships to support returnees who have been deported to their home countries. Our core initiative, in conjunction with the town of Sasabe, Sonora, is our Casa de la Esperanza Resource Center. Since May 2021, it has provided many different services to asylum seekers, migrants, and residents of Sasabe.

  • Kino Border Initiative

The Kino Border Initiative (KBI) is a binational organization that works in the area of migration and is located in Nogales, Arizona and Nogales, Sonora, Mexico. The KBI was inaugurated in January of 2009 by six organizations from the United States and Mexico. The KBI’s vision is to help make humane, just, workable migration between the U.S. and Mexico a reality. Its mission is to promote US/Mexico border and immigration policies that affirm the dignity of the human person and a spirit of bi-national solidarity.
